Tamara is a lionhearted woman, mother, sister and daughter, living in the beautiful Okanagan.

Her work integrates all of the ways nature is part of who we are. She is a writer, storyteller, astrologer and life celebrant. She also has trained as a Death Doula and loves being a family historian. She works to heal ancestral storylines by illuminating family patterns and soul paths.

Over the years, Tamara has taught workshops on mountain tops about what it means to live courageously and leads classes and day retreats in her hometown as well as online. She hosts monthly Celestial Feasts in Kelowna and does astrology readings for individuals and groups.

She has raised thousands of dollars and spent innumerable hours fundraising and working in women empowerment, girls education and nature stewardship causes. In 2019, Tamara did a barefoot TEDx talk for Kelowna Women. Shortly after, she organized the First Canadian Summit on Climate Action in Food Systems with her co-creator Brenda Tjaden. In 2020, she built a tiny offgrid cabin by hand and hammer. In 2024, she published her first book The Shark & The Sunshine.

In 2021, Tamara self-represented in Supreme Court and, in a 20 minute long hearing, lost her voice to her son’s education. She has been in and out of court for years and wants to empower all women to continue to use their voice for the highest good of our future ancestors.

Tamara has the highest level of respect for those that steward land and live in reverence to all living things. Her message is to remember the interconnection we weave with every act and to live our lives so that each breath has meaning: to live our lives raw + open, fully alive.

The best part of her life is being a mama to her biggest teacher and the coolest human she’s ever met, her son.

Life whispers. “Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” - Mary Oliver

My mission is to be raw + real. To protect wildness within us all. To show up for the entire range of being ALIVE, right to the moment I die.

This includes grief, fear, anger and rage right alongside love, joy and hope. This, to feel the whole gamut of emotions, is soul activism. When we come home to ourselves, it is reflected in everything around us and creates a wealthy inner spirit that is incomparable to anything else.

My background:

I grew up moving all over the Prairies went to College in Winnipeg. I lived with a beautiful community in Osborne Village and did the corporate thing for a hot minute. In 2009 I started solo travelling to countries like South Africa, India and Central America to do volunteer work.

In 2016, I completed a deep 200 hour yoga training that brought me into a daily practice of Spirit. I dove deeper still into Yoga Nidra and Trauma-Informed Yoga and then spent a week immersed in a yurt in Ontario, for hours of ancient quantum practices of Yoga Nidra with Jana Roemer. This opened my eyes to the sky.

In 2020, I built a tiny off-grid cabin by hand. An exploding star gave me the name Wild Sky Sisters at 3 a.m. My sister and I went on for five years to run an ancestral focused astrology business.

I’ve co-created with nature for as long as I can remember and have taken courses in Wildcrafting Basics, Wildcrafting by Design and Yasei Shinrin Yoku (Wild Forest Bathing) with Don Elzer of the Wildcraft Forest School. My son and I spent a week at the Art of Mentoring wilderness training on Salt Spring Island and I later worked with the Wisdom of the Earth School.

I’ve studied Dreamwork with Toko-pa Turner, did my End-of-Life doula training and sat with Grief Work with Josea Tamira Crossley. I have taken countless Astrology classes with teachers like Chani Nicolas, Jana Roemer, Linda Berry, Divine Harmony, Gemini Brett, the Shamanic Institute of Astrology and more.

One of my biggest lessons happened in the year 2021, when I was thrown into Supreme Court within 7 days of being served. I self represented - and lost my rights to choose my son’s educational path - in Supreme Court. I went to the Underworld and back to become a homeowner with Habitat for Humanity and to create a blended path for him.

I have faced the wretched and the glorious within me. I  teach and do readings from that full scope of living.

I will forever advocate for the wild spaces that we keep within ourselves because that is our sovereignty, the ultimate purpose, the point of why we are here on this little strange and magical home called earth. To find our wildness, buried deep within. To free it and to free all others in the process.

From my endless heart to yours,

Tamara
